How to reach Zaragoza

Via Madrid (Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport)

By train:

High-speed and long-distance trains connect Madrid–Puerta de Atocha–Almudena
Grandes station with Zaragoza-Delicias station. Services are operated by several
companies, including RENFE, iryo, and OUIGO. Train journeys typically take around 1h30, making this the fastest option.
* Note on getting to Madrid–Puerta de Atocha: Madrid–Puerta de Atocha is a train
station, so travelers arriving at Madrid–Barajas Airport will need to take the subway to
reach it. Various combinations are possible (none direct), such as Lines C1–C2/C7/C10
or Line 8 + C2/C7/C10, with a travel time of approximately 40 minutes.

By bus:

There is also a direct bus connection operated by ALSA from Madrid–Barajas Airport
(Terminal T4) to Zaragoza-Delicias bus station. Bus journeys take approximately 3.5 to 4
hours.

Via Barcelona (Barcelona–El Prat Airport)

By train:

Frequent train services connect Barcelona Sants railway station with Zaragoza-Delicias,
which are also operated by RENFE, iryo, and OUIGO. Travel time is 1h30 approximately.
*Note on getting to Barcelona Sants: Barcelona Sants is a train station, so travelers
arriving at Barcelona–El Prat Airport (T1) will need to take the R2N suburban train
line from the airport to Sants, which takes approximately 20–30 minutes.

By bus:

A few direct buses operated by ALSA run from Barcelona–El Prat Airport (Terminal T1)
to Zaragoza-Delicias. Bus journeys usually take around 3h30.
Additionally, it is also possible to take a shorter bus from Barcelona Estación Nord to
Zaragoza, though reaching this station from the airport requires either a bus or taxi
transfer.

Direct flights to Zaragoza:

Direct international flights to Zaragoza are limited and may vary depending on the season.

How to move around Zaragoza:

Tram

The city has a tram line that connects the city centre with the university area. The
journey from the most central tram stops to the University of Zaragoza (Campus San
Francisco) takes approximately 10–15 minutes.
Tram tickets can be purchased individually at tram stops, and payment can be made by
card or cash.

Bus

Urban buses operate throughout the city and provide extensive coverage. Information on
routes and schedules is available on the city transport website (link provided in this
section).
Please note that single-journey bus tickets can only be paid in cash directly on the bus.

On foot

Walking is also a pleasant option, and it gives you a chance to soak up the picturesque views of Zaragoza’s city centre. From central landmarks such as Plaza del Pilar or Plaza
de España, the walk to the University of Zaragoza (Campus San Francisco) takes
approximately 20-30 minutes.
