Getting to Zaragoza

Zaragoza is located in the north-east of Spain, at a more or less similar distance from Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia (about 320 km).

Flying to Zaragoza

There is an International Airport in Zaragoza, but it is not a very big or busy one and there aren’t many regular companies operating there. There are the following:

    • Air Europa: flights to and from Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca, Tenerife and Paris.
    • Iberia: flights to and from Paris and Frankfurt.
    • Ryanair: flights to and from London, Brussels, Milan and Paris.
    • Volotea: flights to and from Ibiza, Málaga and Mallorca.
    • Wizzair: flights to and from Bucarest and Cluj Napoca

There aren’t daily flights, these companies often operate 2 or 3 times a week.

From the airport you can reach the city center (Paseo María Agustín, 7) by bus (line 501). It takes around 45 minutes and the single ticket costs 1.85€. A bus leaves every half an hour from Monday to Saturday between 6.15 a 23.15. On Sunday, a bus leaves every hour.

You can also reach the city by taxi. There are three taxi companies in Zaragoza:

Flying from other cities in Spain

If you cannot get a direct flight to Zaragoza, you can fly to Madrid or Barcelona, and then take the train or bus to get to Zaragoza.

From Madrid

    • Bus:  there are direct bus trips with ALSA from the airport (T4) to Zaragoza Delicias (3.5 h. aprox.)
    • Train: there are high-speed trains (AVE) operated by RENFE that leave from Atocha Station (NOT from the airport). The trip takes 1.5h aprox. In order to go to the train station you’ll need to take the suburban commuter train (cercanías), line C1 (you can travel with your AVE ticket), or the airport express bus, which leaves every 15 minutes from T1, T2 and T4 and costs 5€.

Both the bus and the train will take you to Delicias Station in Zaragoza.

From Barcelona

    • Bus: there are direct bus trips with ALSA from the Barcelona-Nord station (NOT from the airport) to Zaragoza Delicias (3.5 h. aprox.). Therefore, first you need to go from the airport to the station by bus (buses A1 or A2 + bus L1).
    • Train: there are high-speed trains (AVE) operated by RENFE that leave from Barcelona-Sants station (NOT from the airport) to Zaragoza Delicias (1.5 h. aprox.), so you first you need to go from the airport to the station by bus (A1 or A2)

Both the bus and the train will take you to Delicias Station in Zaragoza.

Once at the station in Zaragoza (Av. Navarra, 80) to can take a taxi or an urban bus to different parts of the city. Lines 51 and 34 will take you to the city center, while lines Ci1 and Ci2 will take you to the University area (and our conference venue). You can check the routes here.
