Stefan Herbrechter is a Privatdozent (English and Cultural Theory) at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. His previously held positions include: Principal Lecturer in Cultural Analysis (Leedstrinity University); Reader in Cultural Theory and Postgraduate Programme Manager – Media (Coventry University); Professor of English and Cultural Studies (Heidelberg University). He has published widely on English and comparative literature, cultural theory and media studies. He is the author of Posthumanism – A Critical Analysis (2013) and Before Humanity (2021), editor of the Palgrave Handbook of Critical Posthumanism (2023), director of the Critical Posthumanism Network (http://criticalposthumanism.net/) and general editor of the Critical Posthumanisms series (https://brill.com/view/serial/CPH).
